Homeless Youtubing isn't working...
Hey everyone, sorry for another update video. Hopefully this explains some of the issues I'm having with releasing content, and with life in general. I don't mean to cry about my problems every time I get on here, but there are times where I need to let some of this out I think, and I can't afford a professional. I also feel that given the support I have gotten from this community, you all deserve to know where I'm at.
I think we all hoped for a fairytale comeback story here, and I've really been trying to make that happen, but I'm not sure it's meant to be. I feel like I've just been struggling to get off my knees here for ages, but I'm hitting dead ends a fair bit. I'm going to keep going, and looking for the opportunities, but I feel like I need to focus on solving at least some of these problems as my main priority for a little while. This just means the content on the channel will remain fairly lite until I can find some kind of comfortable place to lay my head and start working through some stuff.
I miss having the interactions I get from this community, it's a rare source of support for me at the moment, but I feel like I'm slowly killing this channel with these updates, so I'm going to lay low for a while and sort my stuff out.
Take care and all the best to you guys. Hopefully I'll be back with positive updates and hobby content soon.
Love you all,
Shawn.

So after a few challenges over the past 2 years, I've finally taken a step in a direction I chose haha. In 2021 I had a massive heart attack, commonly known as a Widow maker. The heart stopped for just over a minute, and I was revived and given some upgrades at the hospital. This was followed by a family seperation and a house fire, and most recently my best friend of 30 years passed away from ...

I wasn't able to save everything, but what I have saved, and what you will see in the video, has survived the fire and cleaning process well enough to keep. I wanted to show you all what was worth getting out of the old house as far as my old wargaming terrain and tools go. Overall in the house, these bits and pieces make up most of what was taken out of the house, from everywhere, the rest is rubbish unfortunately. Given my studio was furthest from the fire, these bits and pieces you see are nearly everything I've been able to recover from the hou...

    Awesome paint job! 3 years later, how does it hold up? Is there any risk for cracks if you roll it up?

    • @RFDHobby
      @RFDHobby 14 днів тому

      Thanks mate. It's still holding up, I did a quick video on how this thing held up after the fire, it survived even the heat of that event and is still playable today. No cracking or anything, just a bit of curling on an edge that it was resting on for too long, but it was just the way I stored it.

      No problem, this thing works really well, although I've thrown more than a few clumps of grass across the room when it electrocutes me. To the best of my knowledge it's not dangerous, and after the initial shock wears off, I always laugh at myself. Thanks for the comment mate. I'm glad you found the video helpful.

    Great result on this :) is there a good reason you didn't build the wall before the clay dried though? Always seemed like the way that made the most sense to me, but I haven't done it: wondering if I'm missing something obvious.

    • @RFDHobby
      @RFDHobby 14 днів тому

      Thank you for your comment. Honestly I don't have a good reason for why I built it that way. The previous sandbags I had made were done with the same dry clay sandbags, which I found easy enough to work with, so I didn't change the process. I'm not an expert at all in working with clay, so there is very likely better ways to do this, but this seemed to work without issue.

      @RFDHobby Місяць тому

      I did some super simple scale ladders for a fire escape on a build on this : ua-cam.com/video/Zsno8zFzATY/v-deo.html some people seemed to think they weren't very good, but I think they looked fine for 28mm scale. It would really depend on the look I wanted, but I would be fine with matches and toothpicks (or skewers for larger size) to make ladders, even though it might be a little off for 28mm.
